Day 15 - Endon to Etruria

Wednesday 17th June

7 miles, 9 locks

Stockton Brook locks
The weather forecast said rain by lunchtime so we made a fairly early start. Met several boats heading along the Caldon more than we had seen in all the time we had been down there. Uneventful cruise moored at Etruria for lunch when there was a tap tap at the window - it was Mike from guitar club moored two boats along on Captain G. It's a small world.

Unidentified building

Decided to move to marina around 2pm moored next to Coraxia of Stoke. They are going to Lake Gardia for a week.

Festival Park Marina
After a lazy afternoon listening to cricket (England won) we wandered over to the festival park retail park where all the shops were massive - only bought some milk and a t shirt for Anna. Decided to walk into Stoke city centre very run down and quiet. Found a very nice pub called the Unicorn full of beams and brass again. The landlady was chatty and told us her first pub was the plume of feathers where we had been last Thursday night. Strolled a couple of doors down for a curry - a funny menu fajitas, crab cake as well as usual. Food very good and plentiful. Paul tried mongoose beer for the first time. Got a taxi back to marina.
