Day 40 - Wheelock to Middlewich

Sunday 12th July

6 miles, 8 locks, 4 fishing matches!

Huge stocks at the slat works as we go in to Middlewich
Late start this morning - 10.30. Nice day warm and sunny. Cruised from Wheelock to Middlewich which took ages as there were four fishing matches taking place - over 100 fishermen - rules are go slow! Most of them were OK and chatty though there were a few boat haters!

Moored above King's Lock for lunch but very noisy next to a busy road. Rhiannon appeared behind us they were moving after lunch too because of the road they were anxious about their cats.

Came through Middlewich down four locks with the help of a not very enthusiastic lock keeper who told me his life story! Moored in visitor moorings after topping up with water.

Strolled around Middlewich not much to see. Had a drink in the White Bear before picking up a takeaway.
