11miles, 1 lock
A pottering day. Soon got through the stop lock at the end of the Trent and Mersey, through Preston Brook tunnel and onto the Bridgewater canal. Stopped at Midland Chandlers where we bought some grease also had a demo of a new toilet that we might need to invest in at some point.
Passed the Runcorn arm which if we'd had another day we would have gone down but we resisted temptation.
Our first port of call was Daresbury the birthplace of Lewis Carroll of Alice in Wonderland fame. We had a coffee before walking into the village and nearly got hit by an out of control day boat. More worried about the small cruiser and fisherman in front of us than our boat.

Cruised on to moor in Moore where we had lunch. By now the sun was shining and very warm.
Continued cruising through lovely countryside and past some very nice houses. Waved to a man strolling around in his garden as you do only to realise he was naked!
Our next stop was Grappenhall a very short stroll from the canal a cobbled street village with beautiful houses, gardens, church and two pubs.

A different and interesting day.
