Day 41 - Middlewich to Dutton Hall

Monday 13th July

14.5 miles, 1 lock

A very wet morning. The water pump has been making strange noises for a couple of days so Paul strolled back to Kings Lock chandlers to buy a new one in case it stops altogether.

Sat rain out reading. Finally stopped just before midday so we sat off down Big Lock. Just a few spots of rain for the rest of the day.

Approaching Barnton Tunnel
Cruised past the flashes where we have moored in the past tempted to stop but wanted to spend more time pottering up the Bridgewater Canal which is new territory for us.

Waiting to enter Barnton Tunnel

Found a mooring with lovely views near Dutton Hall although a bit noisy as near railway line and on flight path into Manchester airport. Quiet evening catching up with the Archers!
