Sunday 19th July

7 miles

Very windy and not very warm. A lot of rain overnight but dry during the day.

One of the mills on view as we approach Leigh
Set off from Worsley saw the head wheel at the old mine at Astley Green and the huge derelict mills and chimneys of Leigh. Headed for Pennington Flash for lunch. Beautiful spot plenty of birdlife in fact so beautiful that we decided to stay put and recharge our batteries after being so bury for the last four days!

The final crane as we leave the Bridgewater canal

On to the Leeds and Liverpool

Pennington Flash from our mooring
Watched GB win the Davis cup match and listened to England cricket collapse in the second ashes test. Golf at St Andres fourth round taking place on Monday for only the second time in its 100+ year history.
