Day 68 - Worsley to Dunham Massey

Sunday 9th August

11.5 miles

The strange lighthouse
Left Worsley at a reasonable time - wanted to get through Greater Manchester to a rural mooring. Cruise passed without any troubles except as I was on the phone to Jude I could hear this buzzing in the boat and then a loud call of "Sue" from Paul at the back of the boat. Thought it was an emergency but it was only Paul trying to get my attention via the intercom as to whether or not I wanted to stop at the Trafford centre. No I didn't thanks!

Approaching the Barton swing aqueduct

Stopped at Stretford Marine for pumpout (£12) and diesel. Learnt that he is losing a lot of business due to closure of Bridgewater close to Castlefields as they demolish a large building. It is going to be closed for another 2-3 weeks.

Moored at 1.30 at Dunham Massey where we spent the afternoon reading etc. Weather not too bad some breeze washing dried beautifully.

Mum enjoying the barbeque
Walked down to the Swan With Two Nicks - not a misspelling where we exchanged photos/comments with mum and the Brights/Mannixs.They were barbequing in the drizzle while we had blue skies!

Blue skies!
