Set off around 9am overcast day but very muggy. Hard work as we start to climb heartbreak hill 14 locks in 4 miles. Pushed on as the weather forecast is for heavy rain later today and tomorrow morning. Have to be in Kidsgrove by Saturday morning for me to catch the train South.
Quiet morning before strolling out to eat in Rode Heath - pub meal, two for £20 including a bottle of wine - a bargain!
