| Following the boat and butty pair through the locks |
Fairly early start - for us anyway - as rain forecast again later. Down Stone lock - no problems until we got to the bottom lock where we met a working boat and butty with no rudder. Obviously they needed two turns at each lock so progress for the rest of the morning was slow. Canal much busier, especially after we passed the Staff/Worcs junction at Great Hayward. Who should pop out of the junction but Rhiannon who we kept meeting earlier in the trip.
There were many boats moored by Hayward lock including Jaynar - John Brookes' boat from guitar club.Decided to cruise on to Little Hayward where there was plenty of space to moor. The rain didn't arrive and we were able to sit out and read.
Anna is 5 months old today and weighs 15lbs 3 ozs.
Walked up to village for a drink before dinner hoping to sit out but rain started as the spag was cooking.
